GRADUATE APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Thank you for your interest in the PhD program in the History Department at the Johns Hopkins University.

  • Please click here to access the online graduate application. The online application, instructions, and list of supporting materials are available at this site.

  • If you have specific questions regarding the History Department graduate program, please contact Megan Zeller at mzeller4@jhu.edu or 410-516-5296.  If you have questions regarding the online application, please contact the Graduate Admissions Office at 410-516-8174.

Important Reminders:

  • The application deadline for Fall 2009 is December 15, 2009. Please note that the application fee is $75.

  • If you need to mail materials, please send to the the following address: Johns Hopkins University, Full-Time Studies in Arts, Sciences, and Engineering, Graduate Admissions Office, Shriver Hall 28, 3400 North Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21218.

  • If you are submitting materials such as a writing sample, personal statement, etc via the online application, please do not send duplicate hard copies to the Graduate Admissions Office. For all materials, Graduate Admissions requires that you use their Mailing Label and Cover Sheet. Please note that the Graduate Admissions Office will only accept regular mail, Certified Mail, UPS, DHL and Fed Ex deliveries.

  • All application documents must be provided in English (either the original or translations of the original doucments). If you are unable to secure translations to English, the Graduate Admissions Office recommends that you contact World Education Services.
