Congratulations to Franklin Knight, Gabe Paquette, Tamer el-Leithy, and Richard Kagan

The History Department extends its congratulations to Franklin Knight, Gabe Paquette, Tamer el-Leithy, and Richard Kagan:

To Franklin Knight, who has just been awarded the Premio Internacional prize from the Fundación Fernando Ortiz, one of Cuba’s leading cultural institutions, in recognition of his work on African American studies and slavery.

To Gabe Paquette, who has just been named “Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Visiting Professor at King’s College London” in 2017-18, a two-month long appointment spread over the academic year and involving a prestigious public lecture.

To Tamer el-Leithy, who has just been named the 10th Allianz Visiting Professor in Islamic Studies at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU, founded in 1472) in Munich, for summer 2017. The professorship is hosted by LMU’s distinguished Institute of Near and Middle Eastern Studies.

To Richard Kagan, who was appointed the Franklin Pease Visiting Professorship at Lima’s Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Peru.
