Research Interests: Nineteenth-century United States history; history of marriage and family; histories of gender, sexuality, and race; history of intimacy and intimate relationships
I am a scholar of the nineteenth-century United States. My dissertation will examine the legal and social construction of marriage in the early republic and antebellum periods.
Prior to attending Hopkins, I received an AB in History from Harvard College. I am quite committed to aligning my historical questions with issues of social justice concern.
