Congratulations to History juniors, Sophia and Anthony, on your recent accomplishments!

Sophia Laughlin’s revised essay, “James Baldwin in Paris: Liberation, Alienation, and Existentialism,” will be published in the Vanderbilt Historical Review in fall 2020.

Anthony Amongero’s paper, “From Drug Hype to Hyper-incarceration: Media Spectacle as a Political Driver,” was accepted for the first Richard Macksey National Undergraduate Humanities Research Symposium.

Both students wrote their initial papers, last year, during the 2018-19 Sophomore Seminar course (AS.100.193-AS.100.194) with instructor Laura Mason.
